Weekend Links | Vol 6.
Basically new BFFs

Hey friends, happy Friday! I didn’t get to a weekend post last week, primarily because I went out on Thursday night. And by out, I mean to William’s Sonoma for Gaby Dalkin’s book signing.

If you’ve read even a few posts on my blog, you might’ve noticed that I’m slightly obsessed with her. What’s Gaby Cooking is by far my favorite food blog! And thanks to Insta stories and Snapchat, her followers have gotten to know her energetic, quirky, down-to earth personality – making her one of my favorite people ever. And she’s not a bit different in real life. Have you ever had one of those awkward moments where you’re just meeting someone for the first time, but kind of feel like you’ve already known them forever? That was me, and all of the other 150 women in line.

I’ve already gone through her cookbook and flagged all of the recipes I want to make. You’ll want to check it out – it’s gorgeous and the California food looks so simple. If you haven’t tried anything of hers yet, the recipes on her blog are literally so easy and so freaking good. Maybe I should do a roundup of my all-time favorite Gaby recipes? (I have made a lot…)

On separate note, another thing I’m a geeking/nerding/obsessing out over is of course, the royal wedding. I stayed up all night to watch William and Kate’s nuptials, and tomorrow, I’ll be waking up early and sipping mimosas with the one friend I have that’s also interested. Call it a “Royal Watch Party for Two?” LOL. I’m still searching for the best breakfast and snacks to serve that’s somewhat festive – these blueberry scones might have to be involved. Will you be watching!?

Aside from all of that excitement, there’s been some good content on the internet lately, and I’ve rounded up my favorite finds. I hope you all have a lovely, royal weekend. x

  • These videos of John Travolta dancing on stage with 50 Cent literally made my day
  • Totally making notes of these summer book recommendations (never been much of a reader, but I’m in a homebody funk and I’ve started the habit again)
  • My friend Liz wrote a great post about her 5 favorite rooftops in Chicago – which I think I need to go to, and create a list on myself
  • These suitcase packing videos I’m watching for Europe have me equally stunned and panicked – “going to Europe for a couple of weeks” with a carry on terrifies me (but hopefully I’ll get there one day)
  • I could get down with some cantaloupe lemonade – I’ve never tried it, but this recipe looks delicious
  • I love Blair’s tips for making a relationship stronger – which I can always use more advice on
  • My friend and I popped into Nordstrom last night to peek at Julia Engel’s meet and greet – she’s so gorgeous in person and her new line of dresses are too, like seriously
  • A great interview with Barbara Corcoran from Shark Tank
  • This blue and white jumpsuit is so perfect for easy summer days, and reminds me of a favorite I have from. a few summers ago
  • I shared this post on LinkedIn about why great employees quit their jobs, instead of admitting they’re unhappy – and based on the feedback, a lot of people can agree with the reasoning
