Weekend Links | Vol. 5
One of many breaks taken as we carried this table all the way home

Happy weekend, friends! Can we all agree that this week has been the best one of 2018? This. weather. though. First day in the 80s, first spring storm – I’m loving it. I can’t wait for the warm Saturday we’ll have tomorrow. About time!

Last weekend, my friend and I shot this post and then I somehow convinced her to give me her opinion about a T.J. Maxx table.  That turned into us carrying the table the entire 0.3 mile walk home – trust me, it didn’t seem like a long distance to me either, until we were stuck halfway. Shoutout to Kenzie for being half of the manpower needed to bring this bad boy home. No car, no problem right? SLong story short, living in a studio, it’s hard to find space – let alone piece that works – for a table, desk, etc.. I saw this table 4 weeks ago, but it was out of my price range. A few weeks later, it dropped $70 and was still there – that’s a sign, right?. Being that person who is indecisive about decor, I’m so, so happy with how much I’m in love with it. It fits perfectly behind my couch and will work great as a desk and dining area….now, I just need a chair or two in order to actually sit at it. Baby steps, my friends.

All my favorites from this week are linked below. I hope you all have a lovely, sunny Saturday. x

  • I cannot stop thinking about Elizabeth’s  rental kitchen remodel post – also this post sharing how she built her own chic shelves for $100 (I need to recreate these ASAP!)
  • This calendar list of Chicago street festivals is going to come in handy this summer – fests are one of my favorite ways to spend the summer weekends
  • This Mean Girls-esque tee is such a fun, cheeky gift for Mother’s Day
  • And these new mom stories had me crying
  • I have been looking for a straw hat with a light-colored band that doesn’t cost a million dollars, this one is backordered, but I ordered it anyways
  • I share many of Grace Atwood’s posts, but it’s because I can relate to her so much – like this post on why singles should be able to register for housewarming gifts too (you are the Carrie Bradshaw of our generation, Grace)
  • I’m still on that podcast kick and I recently discovered My Second Life, hosted by WHoWhatWear founder Hillary Kerr – I love this episode with one of the founders of Digital Brand Architects
  • I started watching season two of The Handmaid’s Tale and I quickly wondered why the hell I watch it – clearly everyone else feels the same way
  • After stalking Craigslist with no luck, I finally bought this coffee table (let’s hope it’s easy to put together)
  • Loved reading Jacey’s experience with journaling each day – definitely something I’d like to pick up and be consistent with
  • I’ll be patiently waiting for these affordable woven mules from Target to come back in stock
  • Gaby’s Skinny Margarita recipe is perfect for any Cinco de Mayo celebrations – so is this paloma recipe (shameless plug, lol)
  • A heartwarming, positive outcome to one of the most infuriating situations
