Weekend Links | Vol 3.

Happy Friday, friends! This week has been long. I’m a few days into Whole30 and so far, so good. The hardest part has been prepping food in advance and making sure I have enough fruit to snack on throughout the day. Not sure how I’ll feel about this in a few weeks, but I’m hoping my willpower will pull through!

Here in Chicago, we got to a shocking 72 degrees yesterday for like, an hour… But really, it was gorgeous until it dropped 20 degrees by evening. The forecast says it’ll be a rainy weekend in the city, which, sans drinking, calls for a chill couple of days. Does anyone else procrastinate stupid things around the house? Little tasks that you put off that end up causing more stress? Like ordering something, cleaning, putting things away, making returns…? I’ve been doing that a lot lately and it won’t dawn on me until mid-afternoon at work while sitting at my desk and I’ll suddenly get panicked thinking of all the small to-dos. I’m hoping to knock out some of these this weekend and make myself kinda feel like I have my life together.

Below are my favorite links from this week. Hoping each of you has a relaxing couple of days! x

  • This weekend I’m planning on recreating Giada’s garlic roasted chicken and vegetables recipe, Whole30 style – we’ll see how it goes without butter
  • And in 26 days when Whole30 is over, I look forward to mastering a frosé recipe – this one looks delicious
  • These 5 tips to immediately feel happier are quick and easy and I agree completely with #4
  • These Ikea patio setups are giving me major inspo and will hopefully kick my butt in gear for getting some balcony furniture
  • Has anyone ever order swimsuits from ASOS? They have a whole section for “fuller busts” and I think I’m going to take a stab at ordering this one and this one – free shipping and returns, so it’s worth a shot
  • Megan Markle is in Chicago, wearing a White Sox cap and I’m sure I’m not the only one freaking out
  • I desperately need a duvet cover (I don’t use one now) and have been in decisive on texture but this is the cheapest linen-like one of I’ve seen
  • Kristin Cavallari on Instagram seems a lot different than the Kristin from The Hills 7 years ago – but then I watched the trailer for her new show and nope, she seems the same – but I can’t wait to watch, of course
  • These hanging plant holders from Target are so cute and super affordable
  • My affinity for ASICS (per the doctor’s order!) has just multiplied as they’ve step up their game big time  – they’re getting super modern with some new spring shades and these look cute and comfy
  • This sweet essay on small acts of kindness (including a room of nurses singing the Beatles) made me cry last night
