An Honest Review of the Baby Foot Peel

If you’re reading this post, chances are you’ve likely heard of the Baby Foot Peel. If you haven’t, that’s fine, too. Either way, just a heads up, this is a post about an extremely satisfying yet disgusting foot peel that I willingly tried about a month and a half ago (FYI – I didn’t include any gross photos, but you can Google it.). A couple of years ago I remember this product being all over social media, and also being only about $9… Anyways, if you’ve ever had dry, cracked, callused or un-pedicured feet, this is a miracle you’ll want to try immediately.

Let me back up by sharing that I’ve only ever gotten one pedicure ever in my entire life… I know! I can paint my toes well, so I’d rather spend the dollars on a manicure. With that being said, I’m not exactly used to having “baby soft” feet. Nor does the idea of working a pumice stone, or those other razor-like things on the bottom of my foot sound enticing. And after a very dry winter, I figured there was no time like the present. So, I went to Ulta and bought my Baby Foot Peel for $25.

One wild Saturday night I decided to give it a try. Basically, you soak your feet in these foot gloves for an hour that are filled with a gel-ish solution. After, wash your feet and go to bed. You’re not to moisturize. Then, wait. At first, nothing happens…for about 6 days. My feet felt a little drier than usual and looked kind of ashy. It wasn’t until the following Friday when I was working from home, on a call, when I picked my foot up onto my couch and saw the bottom of my foot literally shedding. Like huge pieces of skin just pulling away from my feet. It’s oddly satisfying., Gross, but satisfying. The shedding continued for about 4-5 more days. And yes, the skin underneath was, smooth and soft like a baby’s. No more cracks, or calluses or anything. Honestly, it was amazing.

Now, it’s been about a month and half since I’ve done the peel. And yes, I’d say my feet are about 50-70% back to their normal drynes/crackiness. Not sure if this is normal for everyone or if my feet just continue to go downhill with age. Nor do I really know what’s the recommended time span in between pedicures. But, for $25 this is a super non-invasive way of making your feet so amazingly soft. Would I do it again? Absolutely!

I did a bit of  research beforehand that I ended up following, and I assume it had a positive impact on the results:

Tips for The Best Baby Foot Peel

  1. Shower or take a bath before you start the peel, allowing the warm water to soften your feet.
  2. Soak your feet/take a bath/shower with a slow drain (LOL, me) to soften your feet every day and speed up the process
  3. Don’t peel the skin off! (Or at least try not to)
  4. Don’t plan on wearing sandals, flats, mules or any other shoes that don’t require socks
  5. Don’t moisturize
  6. Vacuum your couch…

I’d love to know if anyone else has tried this product and what your thoughts are. If you haven’t, you can purchase it from Ulta here – and it qualifies for their normal weekly coupons. For myself, I think it’ll definitely be a a good idea to do it again before I leave for Europe in a couple of months (for obvious reasons, LOL).

Hope you have a great weekend! x
