A church in the Trasteverte neighborhood of Rome, Italy

Happy Friday, friends! It’s been some time. As I mentioned in this post, I took a long break, during and after, the insane, amazing, beyond real vacation that was Europe. 10 days on my first international trip meant I needed about 10 days to recover. Well like 7, but it felt like 10. I’ll be writing a few posts about the trip – particularly about each leg of the trip and the logistics that went into it – we took planes, trains, ferries and cars to hop around countries and islands. (Personally, for me, this was the most nerve-wracking part of planning, and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my friends, and dozens of travel diaries from bloggers.)

The best way to end a trip? Coming home to summertime in Chicago. It’s a little crazy that we’re already about to hit July, but I’m stoked for an outdoor concert this weekend, and many more dinners and happy hours al fresco. I’ll be heading to Wisconsin next week, so I hope you all have a safe and fun 4th. With lots of good barbecue, salads and dips. (That’s the best part, right?)

Here are a few of my favorite things from the web this week. Have a lovely weekend! xx

  • I completely agree with a good chunk of these Sex and the City moments – specifically Justin Theroux playing two different boyfriends and the socialite falling out of the window
  • This affordable crossbody bag got me through Europe – very safe and stable – so now of course I want this bag and this backpack, too
  • Does anyone else stalk Target’s college/dorm room line every summer? I swear it’s must more sophisticated than we I (almost) went away to school
  • I’m shamelessly reliving Italy through Kourtney Kardashian’s Insta Stories – and fan-girling over the fact that we went to the same place
  • Definitely saving this gift idea for my niece’s next birthday – it’s only $1
  • Loved listening to Lauren Conrad on this week’s episode of the Second Life podcast
  • While I can’t grow an herb garden this big, I’m definitely getting great inspo for the balcony herbs I’m hoping to grow (sometime before summer ends)
  • These 4th of July outfit ideas are cute and simple
  • I’ll be bookmarking the Most Instagrammable Spots in Paris until my next trip across the pond…
  • This video of a man dancing with a patient almost made me cry…happy tears, of course
